European 8Ball Pool Champion Claims Co. Down Championship

Stephen Dempsey the current European 8-Ball Pool Champion won his first official ranking tournament on Irelands Pub Players 8Ball Pool Tour claiming the 2007 Co. Down Open Pub Players 8Ball Pool Championship in Newry at the weekend defeating his good friend and International team mate Gavin Geraghty (Meath) in the final on a 6-3 score-line…

Stephen Dempsey (Cavan, winner) and Gavin Geraghty (Meath, runner-up)

Stephen came through a field of 60 players to be crowned champion in the superb Newry venue defeating a star studded line up of top Irish Players along the way from both north & south of the border with a fantastic display of pool which earned him the title in this category one event..

This tournament victory puts the Cavan cueist well up the rankings and I have no doubt he will be looking for more major titles in months to come on Ireland’s Pub Players 8-Ball Pool Tour.
