Corrigan Storms To Victory in Donegal 8Ball Pool Championship

The weekend past seen 64 players make there way to the Stranolar venue for the staging of the 2007 Co. Donegal Pub Players 8Ball Pool Championship which was a major success when a Tyrone player was crowned champion, and winning his first official ranking tournament on Ireland’s Pub Players 8Ball Pool Tour…..

Tyrone’s Damian Corrigan won his first All Ireland pub players 8ball pool title with a 6-3 defeat of Cavan’s inter-county and international player David Mc Quillan in the final to be crowned champion….

Damian who was the tournaments number 5 seed going into these Co. Donegal championship followed up on his last ¼-final defeat in the Ulster open pub players championship seeing off top players on route to victory with a brilliant performance throughout the day over Nathan Todd (Tyrone, 5-0), Sean O’ Laughlin (Donegal, 5-0), Lee Hull (Antrim, 5-3), Billy Gorman (Antrim, 5-3), Alan Mc Bennett (Cavan, 5-3) and David Mc Quillan (Cavan) 6-3 in the final.

His semi-final win was over the current Ulster 8ball champion and the tours number one ranked player Alan Mc Bennett (Cavan) on a 5-3 score-line…

The next tournament played under Ireland’s Pub Players 8Ball Pool Tour will be this Saturday 23rd June when a open qualifier will take place for the UK Masters starting at 11am played in the Coach Inn venue Omagh. Co. Down Open 8-Ball Pool Championship:

The next official ranking tournament on Ireland’s Pub Players 8Ball Pool Tour will be on Saturday 21st July  when the 2007 Co. Down open 8ball pool championship takes place played in TJ’s Pool Club Newry with two time slots also in operation 10am and 2pm starts.

All players are reminded that entries must be pre-entered because there is no guarantee of any player getting entered on the day and also the tours full dress code must be in place….for all entries and information contact 07776365059.
