Brian Cathcart (Belfast) 2006 champion.

 2006 has seen the first open darts individual event take place in the Central Bar Dromore Co. Tyrone in memory of the late Packie Donnelly of Dromore.

Top players from throughout Ireland North and South of the border as well as local players made there way to the Dromore venue all chasing the £900 prize-money which was on offer with the outright winner receiving the £400 first prize and the perpetual cup.

It was Brian Cathart (Belfast) who was crowned champion defeating top Rep of Ireland international and Donegal’s number 1 player Martin Mc Closkey in a classic final 6-4 before overcoming the challenge of local player Felix Mc Breaty (Dromore) in the semi-final.

Felix also claimed the highest checkout of the day with a brilliant 167 finish against Brian in the semi-finals, and Brian also produced a great checkout of 130 finish in the final against Martin Mc Closkey (Donegal)
